Willis Summer Series Brings Big-Name Shows to Lauridsen Amphitheater in Water Works Park
DES MOINES, Iowa — Live music will take center stage in one of the city’s most scenic spots as the Willis Summer Series, presented by Willis Nissan, debuts at the Lauridsen Amphitheater in Water Works Park this coming season.
Set against the backdrop of one of the nation’s largest urban parks, the Willis Summer Series will bring a slate of national touring artists and fan-favorite acts to the Lauridsen Amphitheater’s great lawn, giving central Iowans more chances than ever to experience outdoor concerts close to home.
Organizers say the goal is to create a summer-long destination for music lovers, families, and visitors.
“The Willis Summer Series is all about memorable nights under the stars in Water Works Park,” said Chris Burch, Executive Director of Des Moines Water Works Park Foundation. “With the support of Willis Nissan, we’re able to welcome even more artists and audiences to this incredible venue and showcase Des Moines on a bigger stage.”
In partnership with independent concert promoter Mammoth, the series is part of a multi-year vision to expand the number and variety of shows hosted at Lauridsen Amphitheater, focusing on a great fan experience from the first announcement to the final encore.
Early highlights of the 2026 lineup include major concerts featuring Dwight Yoakam and ZZ Top on May 7, and Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas on June 14, with additional shows to be announced in the coming weeks.
