Willis Summer Series

Live concerts at Des Moines Water Works Park are more than entertainment—they spark economic activity, elevate local businesses, and showcase Des Moines to touring artists and fans from across the country.

Lauridsen Amphitheater is excited to announce our partnership with independent live music entertainment company Mammoth to amplify that momentum and expand our reach across central Iowa and the greater Midwest. With this multi-year vision, the partnership will focus on the experience for Central Iowa concert goers, while bringing continuity to the presentation, from announce to encore.

Willkommen im Des Moines Biergarten!

Set among the mature trees of Water Works Park, Des Moines Biergarten is a family-friendly pop-up German-themed beer garden offering steins of beer and German-inspired eats. Open Wednesday through Sunday through October, beginning at noon; you can find us east of the Lauridsen Amphitheater under the tree canopy in Water Works Park. We’re just off the bike trail, and plenty of parking to the south. Restrooms and a natural playscape for kids are also nearby. The Biergarten will close during inclement weather and when the park hosts large concerts. We suggest following the Biergarten on social media for updates.

Local Bands, Brews, and Bikes

Bike, family, and pet-friendly – Local Bands, Brews, and Bikes at the Des Moines Biergarten at Water Works Park is the perfect place to enjoy it all. Come for local live music every Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., June through October. Ride your bike, grab a cold brew, and enjoy the free live local music.
