Local Bands, Brews, and Bikes
Bike, family, and pet-friendly – Local Bands, Brews, and Bikes at the Des Moines Biergarten at Water Works Park is the perfect place to enjoy it all. Come for local live music every Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. June through October. Ride your bike, grab a cold brew, and enjoy the free live local music.
Willkommen im Des Moines Biergarten!
Set among the mature trees of Water Works Park, Des Moines Biergarten is a family-friendly pop-up German-themed beer garden offering steins of beer and German-inspired eats. Open Wednesday through Sunday through October, beginning at noon; you can find us east of the Lauridsen Amphitheater under the tree canopy in Water Works Park. We’re just off the bike trail and plenty of parking to the south. Restrooms and a natural playscape for kids are also nearby. The Biergarten will close during inclement weather and when the park hosts large concerts. We suggest following the Biergarten on social media for updates.
Fridays in the Park
Introducing Fridays in the Park. Join us at the Biergarten Marketplace starting Friday, May 16, featuring family-friendly activities and a weekly rotation of Des Moines’ finest food trucks and mobile vendors.
The Biergarten also features yard games, large picnic tables, and hammocks. We’re proud to announce that a portion of the revenue generated from Fridays in the Park will be donated to the Water Works Park Foundation, supporting their important work in maintaining our beautiful park.
Field Daze Music Series
The Field Daze Music Series is an outdoor summer music series organized by First Fleet Concerts. The summer of 2025 promises to be a great series of concerts from various genres and acts, including several prominent national and international names you won’t want to miss!
